Where Do Our Dreams Go?
Interactive Workshop & Art Installation Series
My goal is to spark discussions about our dreams with the youth in the Clark County community:
What are dreams? Why do we dream? Where do dreams go when we are awake? Do you have a dream you would like to share?
In my installation, my goal is to incorporate children’s artistic contributions into a larger “Dream Scape” including internally lit clouds and raindrops. All elements will be light, modular and highly mobile.
Thank you to everyone who participated and a special thank you to staff at Melvin Ennis and Helen Meyer Community Centers. It was wonderful talking about dreams, art and the future with the kids in the after-school and winter break programs. We used watercolor pencils and markers to draw out our dreams. These were cut into the raindrops and other hanging elements to accompany the internally lit clouds. They were then displayed at the centers that participated, and an additional group show at Whitney Recreation Center.
